Battlefield 6 Alpha Coming Sooner Than Ever Before

Even if both the Battlefield and Need for Speed franchises are primed for a comeback during this new console generation, Battlefield already has the advantage. If DICE wants to truly compete with Call of Duty , that can't happen with Battlefield 6 . It's for that reason the news regarding Criterion and DICE LA is encouraging. DICE will finally be receiving the support it needs to not only finish the game and launch it in a polished state, but also to help create future content for years to come. Criterion is no stranger to working with DICE, having created Battlefield 5 's Firestorm battle royale mode and also helping with Star Wars Battlefront and Battlefront 2 . With Criterion's extra help, Battlefield 6 has a good chance of launching in a better state than more recent entries in the franchise, which will mean fewer distractions and a smoother transition into the live service portion of the game's lifes


Rumors suggest Battlefield 6 could take players back to the modern-day setting , which has been notably absent since Battlefield 4 in 2013. The last two entries in the series, Battlefield 1 and V , have taken players back in time to both World War I and II respectively. After V failed to make a notable impression, it's likely EA is going to try and win back its audience by going back to the modern day setting. Both Battlefield 3 and 4 thrived in their modern day settings, offering high levels of destruction with collapsible skyscrapers and all-out warfare with helicopters, jets, tanks, and more. With EA calling specific attention to its return of "all-out military warfare" it seems to indicate the modern day setting is return


DICE LA will be primarily responsible for creating content for the live service portion of Battlefield 6 . With the studio having already helped on previous Battlefield entries and now being helmed by Vince Zampella of Respawn Entertainment fame (the studio behind Titanfall and Apex Legends ), DICE LA is in a great position to help make Battlefield 6 be all it can be and help to relieve some of the pressure on DICE proper to create new cont


A less expansive but still useful in-game version of the Battlelog was added to Battlefield 4 , though with the release of Battlefield 1 , the support for battlelog officially ended. The companion app was rebranded back in 2016, and Battlefield 5 included no mention of the Battlelog system whatsoever. The new Battlefield will be the first in the series since Battlefield V in 2018, which was a bit of a mess. The World War II shooter was buggy and had a lackluster battle royale mode to try and compete with other games, all of which led to DICE pulling support on Battlefield V __ less than two years after its launch. EA Chief Studios Officer Laura Miele wrote in a blog post today (via ComicBook.com ), detailing the fact that Criterion would be delaying its new Need for Speed title in order to help give Battlefield 6 the support it needs. Miele also noted that the game will be getting an alpha, seemingly very soon.
